Wilson, who won the silver medal as leading amateur at the Open Championship in 2004, will be assisted by Kristin Gunhildrud and will also be in charge for the 2014 match on his home soil in Scotland.

Anna Hubbard steps into Curtis Cup role

Anna Hubbard, from Aberystwyth, has been named as the new manager of the Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup team following the recent death of Sue Turner.

The match against the United States is at Nairn on 8-10 June.

Hubbard played county standard golf for 25 years and was Mid-Wales county champion three times and runner-up on four other occasions. “It’s a great honour for me to accept this privileged position of team manager for the Curtis Cup,” she said.

“I shall strive to fulfill the highest standards set by my predecessor, Sue Turner, who will be dearly missed by all.”
