Red Riverman has the look of a good thing in the EBF/Coca Cola Maiden Stakes at Ayr today.

He made an eyecatching debut when a close-up third to Janood at Newmarket with the winner since going on to Listed success at Newbury.

That looks pretty good form, especially as the second had previously finished behind Prix Morny winner Dream Ahead on his first racecourse outing.

The lightly-raced Lujain colt was building on a pleasing reappearance at Haydock to take this in impressive fashion, setting up a possible tilt at next month's Ayr Gold Cup, for which he is trading at around 16-1.

Shesells Seashells justified 7-2 co-favouritism to land the opening Avenue Pub Handicap in good fashion.

Held up off the pace, Hayley Turner rousted along the progressive three-year-old inside the final two furlongs to burst down the outside of the track.

She then maintained a smooth gallop to record an impressive one-and-a-half-length victory over fellow co-favourite Cat Hunter.

Nelson's Bounty (5-2) sailed through the field to take the Floral Designs Florist Gorleston Handicap, while Hamloola (1-2 favourite) looked impressive when scoring in the Yarmouth Greyhound Stadium Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
