Glenn: Fans can make difference

GLENN LOOVENS has appealed for stay-away Celtic fans to come out in force and back the team again.

Numbers are up on last season but still well short of capacity at Parkhead after finishing last term empty- handed.

The Hoops sit joint top of the SPL with rivals Rangers after six games and Loovens claims more support from their fans could make all the difference.

"In the end, the fans stayed away a bit but it's getting better," said the defender.

"We had a good crowd for the last two games so hopefully we can play well and get them back.

"With them behind us, we are obviously going to be a lot stronger."

Celtic host Hamilton tomorrow in a game they will be expected to win as they bid to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Loovens added: "We are Celtic and we should win games, especially at home, no matter who we play.

"It will be no different this weekend. We will have to be sharp and strong and make sure we do well and take the three points.

"Hopefully the run can continue. We won't get carried away, we will just keep doing what we are doing at the moment and hopefully we can have a great run."
