The announcement of the venue was made by the Lawn Tennis Association yesterday after GB secured a last-four spot with a 3-1 win over France at Queen’s Club in London in July.

Glasgow hosted GB’s 3-2 first-round win over the USA in March, when Andy Murray beat Donald Young and John Isner in the singles. The semi-final will be played between 18 and 20 September, and Murray said: “It’s exciting for the team to be going back to Glasgow.

“It’s always special to play in front of a home crowd and we are fortunate to have played our last three ties at home. We had a unique atmosphere in Glasgow, the crowd was unbelievable. It’s going to be a huge week and we’ll be doing everything we can to get GB through to the final.”
