Former Northampton and Worcester front-rower Murray is joined by uncapped flankers Tyrone Holmes and Adam Ashe in jetting out for next weekend’s Port Elizabeth showdown, Scotland’s final tour match.

Murray has returned to Glasgow this summer after a stint with Worcester, and is in line to win his 60th cap against the Springboks, with Scotland heading to South Africa after a narrow 21-19 victory over Argentina on Saturday.

Johannesburg-born Holmes joined Glasgow in 2012, qualifying for Scotland through his Peebles-born father, while Ashe is a Scotland Under-20s and Glasgow academy graduate.

Scotland boss Vern Cotter has called up the trio to offset the injury loss of back-rower David Denton, and the decision to send prop Gordon Reid home to rest.
