Glasgow Rocks edge out Wolves to hold third spot

Glasgow Rocks tightened their grip on third place in the BBL by crushing Worcester Wolves 88-69 last night at the Emirates Arena.

Sterling Davis’ men saved their best to last, holding the visitors to just 24 points in the second half to pull away. And the American, who scored a team-best 17, has challenged his team to finish the regular season with a flourish this week.

Davis said: “When we bring it defensively, that’s huge. And if we continue to do it, it bodes well for the play-offs. We’re moving in the right direction. But we still need to rectify things and strive for the perfect game.”

Leicester Riders clinched the BBL title for the first time with victory over Durham on Saturday. And the new champions capped off a perfect weekend by crushing lowly Mersey 95-65.
