Glasgow Hawks 33 - 22 Watsonians: Hawks play with victims before going in for the kill

GLASGOW Hawks secured a bonus point victory over Watsonians to leave their opponents in the Scottish Hydro Premier One relegation zone with just one match remaining.

Watsonians had the better of the early exchanges and stand-off Mike Ker gave them the lead with an eighth-minute penalty. They had a couple of good chances to add a try, but pressed the self-destruct button in the 26th minute when back-row Mike Fedo was sin-binned. While Fedo was off, Hawks made it 3-3 with a penalty from stand-off Andy White and just after his return Mat Whittleston scored a converted try.

Watsonians levelled things up at 10-10 shortly after the interval when winger Richard Minto marked his return from eight months out through injury with a try.

Hawks then scored 13 points in a five-minute spell to take control. White added his second penalty before tries from livewire centre Robbie Hair and winger Marc Taylor.

With 19 minutes to go, and Hawks' centre Graham Harkness in the sin bin, Watsonians got hope through a try by full-back Ali Rowe. However, Hawks scored two more through replacement John Maclay and Gavin McDonald – as opposed to one from Watsonians centre Max Learmonth – to secure the win.
