Glasgow call on pros for home sevens

GLASGOW have included a clutch of professionals in their sevens team in a bid to stop the city's prestigious title heading east for the second year in a row.

The Jenkins & Marr Glasgow City Sevens promises to be a celebration of rugby after host club Cartha Queen's Park were awarded the BT Club of the Month award after finishing second in Division 2 and pushing Watsonians all the way in their BT Cup semi-final.

Their sevens - won by Edinburgh last year - has grown into a tournament to rival some of the long-established events in the Borders. Again it features Scotland's three professional sides, as well as Sale Sharks.
