Glasgow add Sean Kennedy for Sale Sharks friendly

GLASGOW have borrowed young Edinburgh scrum-half Sean Kennedy for tomorrow’s pre-season friendly at Sale Sharks.

Chris Cusiter is still returning to fitness after time off following the Scotland tour, and new Fijian signing Nikola Matawalu is not due to arrive for another week at least, which leaves Henry Pyrgos and Murray McConnell, but it is understood that McConnell is out while he undergoes a toe injury
assessment.

Townsend requested the release of an elite development player from Edinburgh’s stable, and Stirling County product Kennedy will head south with the Warriors today.

Sale coach Bryan Redpath, the former Scotland scrum-half and captain, is expected to field a team not far from full strength. Former Glasgow lock Richie Gray is in the squad, but Sale would not confirm whether he will start or come off the bench.

The Glasgow team will be confirmed this morning, but the Warriors will be captained by Chris Fusaro, the openside flanker, and Scott Wight and Ruaridh Jackson will launch the fly-half battle before Duncan Weir returns. Nick Campbell and Tim Swinson will form a second row pairing, with All Black Angus Macdonald debuting at the back.
