Glasgow 2014: Team Scotland’s new youngest member

The 15-year-old becomes Team Scotland’s youngest member so far and joins 21-year-old student Rebecca Bee and 19-year-old Victoria Clow in the three-strong team.

Squash players Stuart Crawford, Greg Lobban and Kevin Moran were also selected in the latest round of Team Scotland announcements for Glasgow 2014.

Rhythmic gymnastics, which will take place at the SSE Hydro, features team and individual events as competitors perform musical routines with apparatus including balls, clubs, hoops and ribbons.

Brash, a pupil at Deans Community High School, won three medals at the 2103 British Championships and competed for Great Britain at the European Junior Championships the previous year.

Bee, who studies in Aberdeen, succeeded Glasgow-born Clow as Scottish Senior Rhythmic Gymnastics All-Around Champion this year.

The three squash players join Alex Clark, Alan Clyne, Frania Gillen-Buchert and Harry Leitch, whose selection was confirmed in September.

Crawford, 33, is assistant national squash coach and is a five-time Scottish champion with more than 70 caps for his country. He will team up with 21-year-old Lobban in the men’s doubles, the pair having won this year’s Scottish Open doubles title and finishing second in the British equivalent.

Lobban, who was Scottish men’s champion in 2013, competes on the Professional Squash Association circuit where he has won two titles, including the Geneva Open in March this year.

Paisley-born Moran, 23, will compete in the mixed doubles with Clark.
