GB sit-skiers ready to race

BRITISH sit-skiers Sean Rose and Russell Docker are looking forward to a white-knuckle ride in their favourite downhill event at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games today.

With heavy rain on Tuesday freezing over the Whistler Creekside run, both Paralympic team members are relishing some thrills when the downhill gets under way.

"If it ices up for the downhill it will be an absolute rollercoaster," said 38-year-old Rose. "If they do get it done it's probably going to be a really gnarly downhill, which will play into my hands.

"Not so much that I like it but I just know everyone else doesn't like it. I don't mind it any way, any how. I just go flat out and either win or crash.

"I've medalled three times in World Cup this season and they've been the only times I've finished. I crashed the two other times."

The conditions are also fine by Docker, 42, from Blandford, Dorset, who is taking part in his third successive Paralympic Winter Games.

"This is setting up to be a very fast downhill," Docker said. "If this ices up now it's going to be bulletproof and although that's going to make it pretty hardcore, the guys that stay in there are going to fly down that hill.
