Games boost for Edinburgh cyclists

FOUR Capital cyclists have received a financial boost as they step up their bids for places at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi later this year.

Kate Cullen and James McCallum, who both won bronze medals in Melbourne four years ago, are joined by Evan Oliphant and Claire Thomas on a list of riders who will receive backing from the charity, the Braveheart Cycling Fund. The quartet were handed the cash in light of their position as likely medalists in India.

Braveheart will also support City of Edinburgh track sprinters Charline Joiner, Callum Skinner and Kevin Stewart, as well as Scottish road race champion Ross Creber and his Endura Racing Team colleague Sandy King.
