Four Scots on course for Senior Tour cards

Gordon Manson, Peter Smith, Terry Burgoyne and Ian Dougan are all in the card-winning places at the halfway stage of the European Senior Tour qualifying school final in Portugal.

St Andrews-born Manson, who was sharing the lead overnight, dropped back with a one-over 72 for a three-under 139 but still shares fourth, three shots behind South African leader Steve Van Vuren.

Former Northern Open champion Smith had a 71 for 140 to sit in a tie for sixth and was joined on that mark by Sweden-based Burgoyne, who shot a 70.
