Four-course menu as five go swinging in the rain

A GROUP of golfers from Greenburn has completed an eight-round marathon over two days.

The team had originally set out to play eight
different courses, but the curse of the Scottish weather restricted the available courses to
four as many of the
intended venues were closed.

With the help of Greenburn, Harburn, Bathgate and Shotts Golf Clubs,
they still managed to
complete the eight rounds within the intended
timescales.

Organiser of the event, Graham McLeod, said: “We are all keen golfers and wanted to do something a wee bit different to raise money for our charity
partner Capability Scotland and also for ClubGolf.

“The Golf Marathon seemed like a good idea, but I wasn’t saying that halfway through when my feet were aching.”

To date the team have raised over £2000 for Capability Scotland as donations continue to be pledged.
