Former amateur champion Jack Cannon dies

JACK Cannon, a former Scottish Amateur champion, has died at the age of 93.

The Ayrshireman was 52 when he lifted the national title at Royal Troon in 1969, making him the oldest player to win the SGU's flagship event. As a senior, he won the British Championship in 1980 at Prestwick St Nicholas and was a three-time Scottish champion.
