Forfar Athletic 1 - 1 Queen's Park: Spiders bite back to earn play-off with Arbroath

QUEEN'S Park battled from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Forfar at Station Park, a result which confirms the Spiders' place in the play-offs where they will face Arbroath.

After a nervy opening period, the home side opened the scoring in the 59th minute courtesy of a crisp finish from Jamie Bishop.

However, Queen's Park showed impressive resolve and Michael Daly netted the crucial equalising goal in the 73rd minute.

The hosts then had Iain Campbell sent off for violent conduct and, although the visitors piled forward in search of an elusive winner, a point proved to be enough for Queen's Park.

Albion Rovers 0 Stranraer 0

ALBION Rovers blew the opportunity to snatch the remaining play-off spot as they were held to a goalless draw by Stranraer at Cliftonhill.

Annan 0 Berwick Rangers 1

Damon Gray's composed 44th-minute strike helped Berwick to a hollow 1-0 win against Annan at Galabank.

The miraculous combination of results they required from the matches at Cliftonhill and Station Park to earn a play-off spot did not materialise.

Elgin City 5 Montrose 2

THE bottom two served up a cracker at Borough Briggs, as Elgin City thumped Montrose.

Paul Tosh gave the visitors a 12th-minute lead, but Elgin's Dave Smith soon levelled before Craig Gunn fired the hosts ahead on the half-hour.

Seconds after the break, midfielder Kyle Macaulay slotted Elgin further ahead and Gunn added his second and Elgin's fourth in the 56th minute.

Tosh pulled one back from the penalty spot before Gunn completed his hat-trick for Elgin, who had Michael Dunn dismissed late on.

Livingston 1 East Stirlingshire 0

CHAMPIONS Livingston signed off with a subdued 1-0 win over East Stirlingshire at Almondvale courtesy of a Keaghan Jacobs goal on the stroke of half-time.
