SCOTT ROBERTSON is a major doubt for Dundee United's Europa League tie against Slask Wroclaw in 11 days' time after a meaty challenge forced him out of this friendly.

The influential midfielder limped off with an ankle injury during United's 2-0 win over Forfar and left Station Park last night with it heavily strapped.

Manager Peter Houston, who has already lost Prince Buaben, Morgaro Gomis, David Robertson and Craig Conway from his midfield following their summer departures, now faces a selection problem for the tie against the Poles.

And to add to Houston's woes, there is also doubt being raised over defender Garry Kenneth's involvement as he continues to struggle with a hamstring problem.

Houston, whose side won thanks to a Jamie Bishop own goal and Johnny Russell's second half tap-in, said: "Scotty looks like he's probably going to be out for the European tie. He went over on his ankle when he collided with the Forfar player. It's all swollen up and we'll need to wait and see how it develops.

"Some people recover quicker than others so it's touch and go.

"I was very pleased with young Scott Allan, who played really well and he might be one to come in if Scott doesn't make it."
