Wolves offer Leigh Griffiths new two-year deal

FORMER Hibernian striker Leigh Griffiths has been offered a new two-year contract by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Griffiths, 22, who scored 28 goals on-loan at Easter Road last season, has less than a year left on his current deal with the club.

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett said: “Leigh has been offered a new contract and is in negotiations. Nothing has been signed yet. I have been very pleased and impressed with Leigh.

“At Preston last Saturday he may have been a bit frustrated due to a lack of service, but he always does look a threat.

“You get confidence in a player that, when the chances come along, he will score and he is desperate to score.”

Griffiths will again lead the Wolves attack against Morecambe in the Capital One Cup this evening.
