McManaman keeps Lactics’ survival hopes alive

CALLUM McManaman struck ten minutes from time to see off West Brom and keep Wigan’s hopes of another great escape alive.

The Latics twice came from behind before McManaman, right, swept home from close range. Shane Long and Gareth McAuley put West Brom ahead in the 29th and 50th minutes, only for Arouna Kone and James McArthur to drag the visitors back into it.

Nigel Adkins got his first win since taking over at Reading as his team beat Fulham to end a ten-match winless streak for the already relegated Royals. Hal Robson-Kanu scored a 12th minute penalty, before adding his second in the 64th minute. Bryan Ruiz scored to give the home team some hope, before Adam Le Fondre struck back. Ruiz then scored again before Jem Karacan’s goal settled the tie.
