What TV channel is Scotland v Switzerland? How to watch Euro 2024 match, kick-off time, referee, predicted XI

Match details ahead of Scotland’s second Group A fixture

Scotland will look to restore pride and keep their Euro 2024 campaign alive when they face Switzerland in Cologne on Wednesday evening.

After a bruising 5-1 hammering at the hands of Germany in the opening match last Friday, Steve Clarke’s side must avoid defeat in their second Group A fixture to avoid becoming the first side to be effectively from the tournament.

With a goal difference of minus four, Scotland are unlikely to qualify for the knock-out stages with three points. It is almost certain that four points will be required which means they must take no worse than a draw from their encounter with the Swiss, who opened with a 3-1 win over Hungary on Saturday.

A win, however, would put Scotland firmly back into contention for a place in the last 16 ahead of the final group match against Hungary in Stuttgart on Sunday.

Scotland Predicted XI

Steve Clarke will make changes from the 5-1 defeat to Germany. One will be enforced with Ryan Porteous handed a two-match suspension from UEFA for his two-footed lunge on Ilkay Gündogan that earned the Watford defender a red card against the hosts. It is not in Clarke’s style to completely rip up his blueprint so the Scotland head coach will likely stick with his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation with Billy Gilmour possibly coming into the starting 11 after being surprisingly left on the bench against Germany. Scott McTominay, who did not look fully fit in Munich, could be the one to drop out.

Predicted Scotland XI: Gunn; Hendry, Hanley, Tierney; Ralston, Gilmour, McGregor, Robertson; McGinn, Christie; Adams.
