Weather woe in Highlands

A CHAOTIC day in the
Highland League ended with no change at the top after two abandonments and a late postponement.

Wick Academy went to Brora looking to draw level with Cove Rangers. Ally McDonald scored for the home side after 42 minutes but high winds and driving rain forced the referee to call a halt at half-time.

Cove’s home game against Fraserburgh was called off 45 minutes before kick-off and Buckie Thistle versus Lossiemouth was scoreless at the break when the
referee abandoned it.

Huntly did manage to host Keith but fell behind when Cammy Keith netted after only three minutes. Jonathan Smith doubled the lead on 39 minutes and Keith got his second from the penalty spot on 50 minutes before Pat Vigurs grabbed a late consolation.

Strathspey notched only their third win of the season, 1-0 at Rothes. Gavin Chisholm got the goal.
