There was plenty of muscular effort but little constructive football in a dull first half, although Edinburgh came close when Connor Regan headed over from a cross by Calum Frain.
Two minutes after half-time, Cyrus Moosavi diverted James Brownie’s centre towards the Watt goal but Blair Carswell saved with his feet. As the second half wore on, the visitors took a grip of midfield and shots by Sean Muhsin and Chris Donnelly were well saved by Mark Tait. The home defence gifted Donnelly another opportunity, but when he ran in on Tait, the goalkeeper thwarted him again.
Tait saved another drive from distance from Muhsin towards the end of the game and Carswell spread himself to block a shot from Moosavi before the Watt struck in stoppage time, Michael Connor’s superb free kick giving Tait no chance as it curved into the top corner.
