The 21-year-old wowed team-mates as well as United manager Jose Mourinho during the club’s pre-season tour of America.

Mitchell took to the middle of the dining room on a chair, using a water bottle as a microphone, to sing Drake’s popular hit ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’.

The player surprised his team-mates with his voice, leading to Juan Mata twirling a napkin in support and coach Michael Carrick beaming with delight before he was mobbed by his colleagues and thrown up in the air.

Mitchell took part in United’s pre-season but has been left out the club’s competitive fixtures so far this season. However, he signed a new deal before completing his loan switch to Hearts.

Last season he impressed on loan at Tynecastle and was awarded with United Under-23 player of the year award.
