Tynie's second-half blitz floors Rose ahead of title decider

A SUPERB comeback by Tynecastle condemned Bonnyrigg Rose to defeat in the South East Region under-16 Youth Cup final at Dunbar, Tynie recovering from a two-goal half-time deficit to win 5-2.

The result gives Tynecastle an edge as they prepare to line-up against Rose in what is effectively a league play-off on Wednesday at Saughton, with both sides tied on 48 points at the head of Division 1.

Bonnyrigg, beset by long-term injuries must find once more the belief that they displayed in the first half of the East Lothian showpiece.

Ryan Somerville gave Rose the lead with a stunning strike into the top right-hand corner after just four minutes. A second goal from Lee Brown shortly before half time put Bonnyrigg in the clear and it was difficult to see how Tynecastle would be able to pick themselves up but a stern half-time word from coach Dougie Dalgleish did the trick

As a statement of their intent, Tynie struck just seconds after the restart, as a corner ricocheted to Jamie Forsyth, who calmly sidefooted into the corner.

Tynecastle's impressive Frazer Galloway equalised on 56 minutes, emphatically smashing the ball in off the crossbar.

Bonnyrigg seemed exhausted and Tynie unleashed a triple salvo to take the cup. A beautiful 30-yard strike by Robbie McIntyre five minutes from time gave them the lead before Callum Paterson and Jamie Forsyth struck in injury time.
