Tynecastle 1-2 Edinburgh University: Uni fight back to take points

Edinburgh UNIVERSITY came from behind at Fernieside to secure their second league win of the season and keep Tynecastle in the bottom two.

The home side were forced to make a change after ten minutes when Ross Weir suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder following a collision in the middle of the park.

Tynecastle took the lead in the 23rd minute as Gavin Pettigrew’s strike was perfectly directed into the bottom corner from 20 yards. The visitors equalised four minutes after the break with Callum Murray
heading in a cross from the right touchline unchallenged.

In the 63rd minute, Cyrus Moosavi put Edinburgh ahead with a half-volley from the edge of the area which took a wicked deflection off a Tynecastle
defender on its route to goal.

Tynecastle fought hard to rescue a point but the closest they came to scoring was a John Williams free-kick which was deflected wide of the upright.
