Tom Rogic hopeful new Celtic deal will be done shortly

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has revealed he still wants to sign a new contract as his representatives remain in discussions with the Parkhead club.

His current contract expires at the end of next season, and having gone from a young prospect who played very few games to one of Celtic’s most important players, he’s looking for a new deal to match his worth.

Discussions opened with Celtic around the turn of the year though little progress has been made to this point. The player remains confident something will be done.

He said: “We’re still speaking to the club. I’m very happy with Celtic and I’m enjoying my time here. Hopefully we can agree to something sooner rather than later.”

Rogic scored twice for Australia last night after coming off the bench for the Socceroos in their match against Tajikistan. Australia won 7-0 in the World Cup qualifier.
