Third division football: Match previews

BERWICK host Elgin; Queen’s Park travel to East Stirling; Montrose take on Clyde and Annan play Stirling Albion.

Berwick Rangers v Elgin

Berwick have striker Stuart Noble out with a hamstring problem and the trio of Steven Notman, Ben Miller and Dean Hoskins suspended. Assistant boss Robbie Horn is in charge as Ian Little has a family commitment abroad.

Elgin miss Jamie Duff through a knee injury and giant striker Paul Millar who remains on Olympic security detail in London. However, captain David Niven is expected to feature.

East Stirling v Queen’s Park

East Stirling have skipper Kevin Turner fit enough to start. However, three-goal striker Michael Herd is a doubt with a knee injury. Craig Donaldson remains out with an ankle knock.

Queen’s Park have a doubt over midfield dynamo David Anderson with everyone else available to head coach Gardner Speirs.

Montrose v Clyde

Montrose midfielder Jamie Winter is still injured and Jonathan Crawford will miss out through suspension. Former Dundee United defender Grant Mosson will debut if international clearance comes through from Iceland in time.

Clyde’s summer signing, John Kane, the looks set to start after the former Stranraer man overcame a knee injury, and captain Paul Hay is available after recovering from illness. Not such good news for the Cumbernauld boss is that Gavin Brown and Michael Oliver will both miss out through knocks.

Stirling Albion v Annan

Stirling Albion goalkeeper Sam Filler returns after suspension to face visitors Annan. However, Shaun Fagan is out through injury and Marc McCulloch is missing due to work commitments. Recent signing Kieran McAnespie is banned.

Annan are waiting for fitness test results on Jack Steele and David Murray with Peter Watson missing as he is on honeymoon.
