Wanyama in plea to SFA

Celtic signing target Victor Wanyama flew into Glasgow last night and begged the SFA to help him secure a work permit so he can sign for the Parkhead club. The 20-year-old Kenyan revealed his brother's dream move to Britain was wrecked by red tape and is praying his 900,000 move from Belgian club Germinal Beerschot does not suffer the same fate. • Celtic manager Neil Lennon is pessimistic about the club's chances of securing a second spell at Parkhead for Craig Bellamy. Lennon, who played with Bellamy during his loan spell at Celtic Park in 2005, said: "It looks a remote possibility at the moment, unless some sort of scenario comes up where he could come down a bit on the wages. • Celtic winger Niall McGinn has signed a season-long loan deal at Brentford. The Northern Ireland international was left out of Celtic's squad for their pre-season tour of Australia and he has moved to the League One club to increase his chances of regular football.

St Mirren snap up Carey

St Mirren have signed Graham Carey from Celtic on a two-year deal, the Paisley club have confirmed. The 22-year-old, who came through the Parkhead youth system, was on loan at the Buddies on the second half of the 2009/10 season and also had loan periods with Bohemians and Huddersfield Town. Riordan heads for China

Derek Riordan has sealed a life-changing move to China after agreeing a two-year contract with Shaanxi Chanba, and is set to make his debut as early as this weekend. The deal is understood to have quadrupled what Riordan had been earning at Hibs, whom he left this summer following the expiry of his contract. (The Scotsman)

Adam completes Liverpool deal

Liverpool have completed the transfer of Charlie Adam from Blackpool after the midfielder signed a long-term contract. The Scotland international underwent a medical at the club's Melwood training ground on Wednesday after the two clubs agreed a deal - reported to be around 8.5 million - to end the Reds' six-month pursuit of the 25-year-old. Boyd in Turkey for transfer talks

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that striker Kris Boyd is in talks with Turkish club Eskisehirspor over a proposed move. The 27-year-old Scotland international, who spent the end of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, has travelled to Turkey as Middlesbrough make efforts to cut down their wage bill.
