• Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra could enter into talks over a new contract, according to director of football Gordon Smith. The Algeria international is entering the final year of his contract and had been thought to be keen to leave Ibrox. (The Scotsman)

• Meanwhile, Espanyol have rejected Rangers' offer for defender Raul Rodriguez. The La Liga side knocked back the bid of 200,000 with 200,000 add-ons because they don't want to let him go until they have found a replacement. (The Sun)
