Verhoek keen on Rangers move

Dutch winger Wesley Verhoek has revealed he is interested in a move to Rangers after hearing that he was on Ally McCoist's radar. The Ibrox manager has already had a 1million offer rejected by ADO Den Haag, who are demanding 2.6million for the 24-year-old. Verhoek is also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. (Sun)

• Rangers have failed with another offer for Roland Juhasz. An Anderlecht spokesman said the 2.6million bid was "way below" the club's valuation of the defender. (Sun)

• Rangers will sell Madjid Bougherra as soon as they sign a replacement after the Algerian rejected a renewed offer to become one of the highest earners at the club. (Herald)

• German winger David Odonkor is set to go on trial at Rangers after his contract with Spanish outfit Real Betis ended. The 27-year-old has been through three knee operations in recent seasons though, and will have to prove his fitness. (Various)

• Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will make a final decision on whether to allow Kyle Bartley to rejoin Rangers on loan this weekend. (Sun)

• New Rangers signing Dorin Goian will not be allowed to face Malmo in the second leg of the Champions League qualifier after the Romanian's paperwork wasn't completed in time to meet the UEFA deadline. (Record)

Celtic lose out on Zimbabwe striker

Celtic have lost out on signing Knowledge Musona after the striker joined German side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim from Kaizer Chiefs. Despite interest from the Parkhead club, the Bundesliga club won the race for his signature. (Various)

Inverness sign Welsh midfielder

Owain Tudor Jones has agreed a one-year deal to sign with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after he was released by Norwich City. The 26-year-old has made six appearances for Wales but has been allowed to leave as the club prepare for their return to the Premier League. The Highland club have also confirmed the signing of Thomas Piermayr after the Austrian under-21 was granted international clearance. (Herald)

City land Aguero for 35m

Manchester City have completed the signing of Argentina striker Sergio Aguero on a five-year contract, worth a reported 200,000 a week. No fee was confirmed by either club, but it is thought City have paid Atletico Madrid 35million for the 23-year-old, eclipsing their previous high of 32.5million for Brazil forward Robinho in August 2008.
