The anorak: Canaries can stop the rot on trip to Peterborough

CHRIS Hughton knows what it takes to be an FA Cup winner, having been part of the Tottenham team that lifted the famous trophy in 1981 and 1982, so I hope he respects the cup tradition by fielding a strong Norwich side today.

The Canaries are in need of a confidence-boosting win after losing their last four games – all by a single goal – to West Brom, Manchester City, Chelsea and West Ham. They travel to London Road today where Peterborough have enjoyed a resurgence of late, but will be missing red-hot striker James Tomlin through suspension. The Posh always seem one game away from a hiding and the only odds-against price of 23-20 (Betvictor) about the away win should be snapped up as Norwich have far more quality and will want to get the job done at the first time of asking so they can concentrate on league survival.

Aston Villa ((Evens, Hills) are desperate for any kind of win and they may get it against Ipswich, who have cup-tied and injured players to contend with. Wigan (17/20, Hills), who don’t always put out strong cup line-ups should still be too strong for League Two Bournemouth, while Leeds (11-10 general) can get the better of Birmingham, who are missing a host of players.
