It feels like it was only yesterday that the hectic summer transfer window slammed shut in Scotland but, believe it or not, it is just over five weeks until the madness begins again - and the transfer rumours are already starting in earnest.
With Celtic and Aberdeen still unbeaten and neck and neck at the top of the league, both will be hoping to hang onto their star performers in order to continue their incredible campaigns, while Rangers will be desperate to add to their ranks after falling nine points behind both.
Both Hearts and Hibs find themselves battling it out at the bottom of the table and, with several players out of contract in the summer, the two Edinburgh clubs’ squads could look significantly different come January 31st.
But which Scottish Premiership will court the most interest in the new year? Here are the top 10 Scottish Premiership players we are tipping to be the most in-demand during the January transfer window.

5. Reo Hatate - Celtic
Was subject of a big money bid from Leicester City in the final week of the summer transfer window, but with Matt O'Riley already departing, Celtic rebuffed any bids for the Japanese star. Since then, Hatate has shone in the Celtic midfield, scoring four goals as Brendan Rodgers' side go from strength to strength. His excellent form mean it's likely they'll be renewed interest in his services this January - but it would take a massive bid to prize him away. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

6. Benjamin Kimpioka - St Johnstone
The Swedish striker has found a home at McDiarmid Park after arriving from AIK in January 2024. Out of contract in the summer, the ex-Sunderland man is the Scottish Premiership's top scorer and will no doubt have caught the eye of some managers after his excellent start to the season. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

7. James Tavernier - Rangers
A virtual ever-present since joining the club in 2015, the Rangers skipper looked destined to leave in the summer with moves to Saudi Arabia and Turkey both rumoured. He remained at Ibrox, but has found himself in and out of the team in recent weeks. Could there be renewed interest from abroad in the January window? | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

8. Rabbi Matondo - Rangers
The Welsh international has shown some real glimpses of quality under Philippe Clement, but has ultimately been unable to contribute enough due to injury. Had reported interest from Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and Norwich City in the summer and a cut-price deal could be targeted again in January when he returns to fitness. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
