Former England captain Butcher is contracted to the team until the summer of 2014, as are assistant manager Maurice Malpas and Steve Marsella, chief scout and goalkeeping coach.

Inverness chief executive Kenny Cameron is on holiday in the US, and Butcher revealed that he expects to begin discussions with Cameron over a new deal soon.

However, Butcher emphasised that his priority for the new season was preparing his players for another push for European football.

“The chairman is in Las Vegas just now and I am sure we will sit down and have a chat when he comes back.

“The management team is very comforable and the chairman is very comfortable with us having a year left.

“We will certainly have a conversation with the chairman as the club is in a very good place at the moment and we want to make it even better.

“If that is done, it is the last thing on the agenda, as there are other more important things we have to do.

“I am very happy at Inverness and we have put a good squad together after the best season the club has ever had and it certainly makes me want to do it again.”
