Celtic dig in on Moussa Dembele transfer bid

The Celtic star posted a meme which read: “A man, without his word, is nothing. A real man keeps his word.”

This would appear to be aimed at manager Brendan Rodgers with Dembele liking another tweet, this one by ex-Celtic star Chris Sutton, saying the striker was “calling out” his head coach.

Celtic are willing to dig their heels in and refuse the French striker the chance to join Lyon unless they can secure a replacement on deadline day.

Dembele wrote another tweet, saying: “Don’t get it wrong Bhoys and Ghirls nothing to do with people who really care about the club @CelticFC too much respect for you and the crest #CarefulWhoYouCallTheLeaderOfYours”

With this he posted another meme, this one read: “A lie has many variations, the truth none.”

Rodgers confirmed yesterday that the club had rejected a “significant” offer for the 22-year-old and revealed there’d be further talks with the player and his representatives.
