Stirling win not enough for play-off places

Stirling Albion’s remote play-off hopes ended despite a 1-0 win.

Annan Athletic 0, Stirling Albion 1

Kieran McAnespie supplied the cross for Stephen Day to score after only two minutes. The visitors should have doubled their lead when Jordan White’s curling shot rebounded off the Annan crossbar.

Fourth-placed Berwick Rangers earned a vital 2-1 victory at Elgin.

Stuart Leslie’s seventh minute penalty gave Elgin the lead but the visitors levelled in 65 minutes through Darren Lavery. Ten minutes later, Berwick completed the turnaround when Kevin McDonald scored.

Clyde 1, Montrose 0

Montrose look unlikely to make the play-offs after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Clyde.

Clyde opened the scoring through Patrick Scullion who reacted sharply to convert Kieran McDonald’s flick-on. Montrose goalkeeper Sandy Wood’s efforts kept the tally at one.

Queen’s Park 5, East Stirling 1

Queen’s Park confirmed their play-off place with a 5-1victory.

David Anderson fired the hosts ahead and, after Jamie Glasgow restored parity, Jamie Longworth’s strike regained Queen’s lead. Longworth again, Sean Burns and Aidan Connolly all scored after the break.
