Steven Naismith to undergo medical over £8.5m Norwich move

Norwich City look set to finally complete the signing of Scotland international striker Steven Naismith from Everton.

The 29-year-old is set to have a medical at Carrow Road after agreeing terms on a £8.5 million move.

Naismith has been in Merseyside since joining Everton following his exit from Rangers in 2012.

During that time he has made over 100 league appearances, though almost half of those have come from the substitutes bench as he’s mostly been forced into a role of squad rotation player.

He netted an impressive hat-trick against Chelsea earlier this seaso, but it still wasn’t enough to guarantee him first choice status in the squad.

Naismith played an active role in Scotland’s recent European Championships qualification campaign, netting three times as Gordon Strachan’s men missed out on the finals at France next year.

At Norwich the striker will link up with former Hamilton Accies boss and fellow Scot Alex Neil.

Neil led Norwich to the English Premier League after only five months in charge of the Canaries and currently has to side five points above the relegation places in 15th.
