Arquin scored six goals in 35 appearances for County after signing in January last year.

The former Hereford and Notts County player said: “I am delighted to have signed for St Mirren until the end of the season. I spoke with a number of people who I trust in football and they all gave me very positive feedback about the club and the fantastic facilities they have. I am looking forward to getting started on Saturday and help the club start to move up the league table.”

Caretaker manager Gary Teale added: “I am delighted to add Yoann to our squad as he is a player that will help us in the final third of the pitch with his link-up play and also to stretch teams in behind.”

Teale has also been looking at Wigan youngster Ryan Jennings as he looks to replace the injured Steven Thompson.

County, meanwhile, have been successful in their attempts to keep former Motherwell defender Paul Quinn at the club until the end of the season.

Aberdeen had noted an interest in the 29-year-old, who joined the Dingwall side on a short-term deal in October, but Quinn is set to sign a new deal before Saturday’s game against St Mirren.
