SPL Fanzone: St Mirren

HOW sweet it was to see a goal scored against the Old Firm at their place in the last seconds of a game, and it not be one that salvaged the hosts an undeserved win or draw.

It does not happen often, and very rarely at the end of a game in which St Mirren have dominated, but Steven Thompson’s effort was the least of what Saints deserved on Saturday. Ally McCoist was great comedy value as ever, saying victory was snatched from his side and that our equaliser came from a mis-hit pass by Craig Samson.

He doesn’t have a good side and doesn’t know it. St Mirren have a good side who, with goals, are top-six material. With Hibs visiting Paisley this weekend then Ayr United in the Scottish Communities League Cup we have a great run of four home games in five to look forward to if Danny Lennon’s players take confidence from Ibrox and believe in themselves.
