SPL Fanzone: St Mirren

IT SEEMS to be an unwritten rule for us that whenever one of our players comes in for praise they will have a poor performance the following week. So what happened to Craig Samson on Saturday was perhaps inevitable.

After being hailed for not booting the ball up the park and helping us equalise at Ibrox, it was that same reluctance to just get rid of it that cost us against Hibs.

There is a time and a place to try to play a passing game but it’s certainly not at the edge of your own six-yard box when Leigh Griffiths is bearing down on you.

We should still have got at least a point after that and pretty much battered Hibs in the second-half. It seems it was just one of those days – which hopefully won’t be the case when we go to Perth this weekend.
