SPL fanzone: St Johnstone

Two weekends, 10 goals, two thrilling conclusions – and one whole steaming pile of freshly-served disappointment. Ah, the life of a St Johnstone and Scotland fan.

Last night Scotland played Lithuania – so lets just hope it hasn’t got any worse. And, if it has, I’m hoping against all hope that Saints can lift the gloom with a big performance down at St Mirren Park on Saturday.

We’ve been a thorn in the Buddies’ side for the last few years – our record against them is outstanding – but they look an entirely different proposition so far this term.

I feel that the Saints are much like Scotland at the moment – we play well within ourselves and often give the opposition far too much respect.

Hopefully we’ll play to our strengths more often – starting this weekend.
