SPL Fanzone: Motherwell

“It WAS just like watching Spain at times as Motherwell drew howls of frustration from the home fans by keeping the ball for far longer than they should have been permitted”. That fine tribute appeared not on the claret and amber pages of FirParkCorner.com but in Alan Pattullo’s match report in Scotland on Sunday. That man has just gone up in my estimation!

The reality was, of course, slightly different. At times our back four were given all the time in the world to roll the ball across the pitch while our ability to slice through the Hibs defence bore no relation to the 42-pass move when Silva scored against Scotland. But the win ended the first quarter with the mighty ‘Well in second place – a remarkable feat. More of the same in the next 11 games and we’ll start to get excited.
