SPL fanzone: Motherwell

THERE’S nothing unusual about being knocked out of the Scottish Cup. For Motherwell fans it’s almost an annual occurrence broken by only two triumphs in the last 60 years.

We’ll get over the disappointment and, as is the custom, concentrate on the league. We can be thankful we have a big prize still in our sights. For others a cup exit snuffs out any hope of a successful season but the prospect of a runners-up spot remains a realistic goal for the Fir Park faithful and that will be our driving force when the team face Aberdeen again on Saturday.

Following our recent fine record against the Dons there is no reason not to regard the cup loss as a blip. Losing to them once was careless but to lose to them twice inside a week would cause alarm.
