SPL Fanzone: Kilmarnock

THE week after taking a point from the SPL’s third-placed team (Celtic), we travelled to play the second-placed side (Motherwell) and took a point from them as well.

We did well in both but the frustrating thing is that we could quite feasibly have won both games. We had the upper hand for most of the game at Fir Park without being able to convert any of our chances.

Motherwell didn’t let us have it all our own way, of course, and they brought out the best in our goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola with a fantastic double save that kept us level. Gary Harkins was unlucky to crack the ball off the post at one point, but the game ended in a creditable no-scoring draw, with both teams playing some good football. By the time you read this we will know if we’ve become the third SPL scalp for East Fife or whether we are in the League Cup semi-final.
