SPL Fanzone: Kilmarnock

DUE to crazy fixture scheduling, Killie fans found themselves having to travel to the east end of Glasgow on Christmas Eve, scuppering any thoughts of late shopping trips for presents or spending time with our families.

Bah humbug to the SPL. They should have followed England’s lead and kept the traditional Boxing Day fixtures.

To be fair, I was surprised they had not made us visit Aberdeen or Inverness, and they allowed an early kick off at the request of the clubs so it could have been worse. We were playing well in the first half against Celtic, but the referee adopted the old “play on until the big team score” tactic and they took the lead two minutes into the one minute of injury time. That said, Samaras scored a perfectly decent second goal for Celtic. St Johnstone are next and we will have to be at our best to take anything home from Perth.
