SPL Fanzone: Dunfermline

SATURDAY’S draw in Inverness suggests better times lie ahead for Dunfermline after a difficult period of late.

It showed great character by the Pars, who hadn’t scored a goal, far less taken a point, in five weeks, to create so many great chances in a game they dominated.

The psychological impact cannot be over estimated. The difference in confidence as the Athletic went for a winner was obvious. Liam Buchanan again made an impact, coming on as sub, and slotted home the penalty he had won. All of which begs the question, should Dufermline adopt away tactics at home? Their away form is the equal of some top-six clubs and, with the return in November of Hardie, Barrowman and Phinn, and the promise by the Board that the club will strengthen in January, suddenly things look very different.
