SPL Fanzone: Dunfermline

A WIN against Inverness tonight would turn Dunfermline’s season completely around.

A six-figure cash windfall would stabilise the club which has temporarily closed the North stand to save a mere £20,000, reduced the police presence by using stewards, replaced turnstiles with ticket cabins, and is approaching companies to take executive sponsorship.

Jim McIntyre is known for the Midas touch in plucking players from obscurity (think Gibson, Kirk, Rutkiewicz, Hardie). Now he has the Turner prize – a televised cup tie with Celtic would allow for a move for midfielder Mark Kerr and a central defender to play beside the returning ‘Rusty’. The encouraging display against Hibs suggests we are not that far away from that elusive first home victory. Could it yet be a fairytale ending? We do have a hairy Potter in our ranks! Sensibly, prices have been reduced.
