An international weekend with no Dons directly involved gave us a chance to contemplate what we’ve seen so far.
A lack of flair and goalscoring threat would probably be the main talking points, albeit several decent chances have been missed when our strikers have had opportunities. Many also point to the lack of natural width outwith the first XI, a concern given the number of injuries Aberdeen usually suffer as the season kicks in.
Irrespective of what some would have you believe, the season so far has not been without positives, in the form of solid signings and flourishing youth. However, results must improve as the autumn goes on if we’re to avoid another season languishing in the lower reaches of the table.
