SPFL prepares for WORST case scenario, Celtic ace avoids injury in CRASH, contract moves to block Old Firm double SWOOP, Lennon BACKED - Scottish Premiership Rumour Mill

The fall-out from the weekend’s Old Firm match continues with views on the leaked home line-up continuing to fuel debate but ex-Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has his say on the destination of the SPFL title.

The former Parkhead boss, and multiple trophy winner, still has faith that former charge Neil Lennon will lead the Hoops to a tenth title in a row.

Whether the season makes it that far or not is up for debate though as coronavirus continues to affect the fixture list and the SPFL have begun discussions over contingency plans over the worst case scenario and the season is again cut short.

Celtic and Rangers don’t have much time to draw breath after their big match at the weekend though as they warm up for Thursday’s Europa League group stage kick-off. Steven Gerrard takes his side to Belgium to meet Standard Liege while AC Milan are due in town when Celtic host Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co.

Glen Kamara is still attracting admirers with his string of midfield performances and extending his contract remains an Ibrox priority.

There are also domestic duties for Aberdeen and Hamilton Academical at Pittodrie tonight – in light of the Dons being denied another test event proposal and the Accies being decimated by yet more coronavirus tests restrictions. Sam Cosgrove is expected to be available to Derek McInnes, although his opposite number Brian Rice has six players missing for the trip which has been postponed from earlier in the league campaign.

It’s Tuesday’s Scottish football rumour mill and news round-up.
