SPFL opening weekend fixtures moved for TV coverage

Rangers and Hamilton will get the 2016/17 season underway after the match at Ibrox was moved to a 12.30pm kick-off on 6 August.

The Ladbrokes Championship title winners will raise the league flag in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Celtic will now begin their season the following day when they take on Hearts at Tynecastle.

The match will also be broadcast by Sky Sports and will have a 2.15pm kick-off.

The final match of the opening weekend moved for live television coverage will take place at McDiarmid Park where St Johnstone host Aberdeen.

That match will be shown by BT Sport with a 12.15pm kick-off time.

The following weekend Rangers’ game with Dundee at Dens Park has been moved to an earlier kick-off on the Saturday for BT Sport coverage.
