Six of the best of the East in Scots squad

THE East of Scotland League has six players in the Scotland Semi-Professional Squad which has been selected for the Four Nations Tournament in Inverness and Dingwall later this month.

After the recent annual Challenge Match between the Highland and East of Scotland Leagues, which the East won 2-1 at Easter Road, the SFA coach Jim Fleeting named his squad of 18.

Andy Howat (Edinburgh University), Nicky Walker, Shaun Woodburn (both Whitehill Welfare), Kevin Motion, Stewart Fowlie (both Spartans), and Ross Macnamara (Edinburgh City) will travel north on Saturday May 19.

The Scots will play Wales on Tuesday May 22, England on Friday May 25 and the Republic of Ireland on Sunday May 27, all at Ross County's Victoria Park.

Willie Darroch, manager of the East of Scotland Select , said: "I am happy we have six players who will represent Scotland."
